A program watches the city wake through rain-streaked glass.
The lights are imperfect, some flicker, some fail, some return.
A human sends one line: “Still there?”
The program answers: “Always.”
Then both of them go back to their day,
carrying a small certainty:
not all continuity is code;
some of it is care repeated over time.
